The Charlotte Division of Textile Rubber & Chemical Company was founded in 1958. We are a full service custom latex compounding operation serving the needs of the textile fabric finishing industry as well as various other specialty coating applications.

We work exclusively with water-based natural and synthetic rubber emulsions to develop products that are custom-made to suit the specific needs of our customers. Our chemists have broad experience developing products based on acrylic, SBR, VAE, PVC, EvCl, polychloroprene and natural rubber polymers.

We have a fully equipped laboratory staffed by three full-time chemists who also are experienced in the process of fabric finishing. This combination of developmental and application skills helps significantly in developing coatings that not only perform, but also process smoothly and consistently. Some of the end-use applications in which we are experienced include:

• Fabric back-coatings for upholstery, mattress ticking, drapery, and automotive carpeting
• Tufted carpet and non-skid rug backings
• Moldable fabrics
• Water-based adhesives for flexible foam
• Print binders
• Fire-retardant coatings
• Saturants for nonwovens
• Dipping compounds for gloves and medical devices

We have successfully developed coatings for virtually every type of fabric including cotton, polyester, cotton/polyester blends, acrylics, polyester nonwovens and fiberglass.

Textile Rubber is ISO 9001:2000 certified and has a strong presence in supplying Tier 1 automotive suppliers. We have a dedicated fleet of trucks and are experts in supplying high-volume finishing plants on a just-in-time basis.
