XL North Gains Ground

XL North continues to gain more and more market acceptance as a leader in providing commercial grade chemistries in to the flooring maintenance market, by adding 15 new accounts since the start of 2010.

Over the last six months XL North has launched five new products in two separate market areas.

New Product Launch timeline:

September 2009: XL North reaches an exclusivity agreement with DuPont to hold all marketing and sales rights of its new Carpet Cleaning and Protection products known as DuPont Teflon Advanced.

November 2009: XL North adopts the United States, EPA standards for Green under what is known as the Designed For the Environment program. In doing so XL North debuts its first, certified, green product called Liquid Grab Green as part of a line of Green formulations for the flooring maintenance market. Now our customers can be LEED compliant where and when necessary and still have a product with the same level of cleaning efficacy as Liquid Grab.

December 2009: XL North enters the Hard Surface Finish market with a whole new twist.

We developed a line of floor finishes that have higher solids (which mean fewer coats necessary ) we added a metal cross linked polymer for better scratch resistance and we incorporated the EPA registered antimicrobial known as Intersept to become the only floor finish on the market that can prevent mold and bacterial growth. This is a hugely important feature when it come to finishing floors in hospitals, nursing homes and schools. Just to name a few.

This line of products includes:

  • A high solids content with a High Gloss Finish
  • A high solids content with a Matte Finish An EPA/DFE approved Green Finish.
  • Plus a floor wax stripper that is used to remove previously applied floor finish.

January 2010: XL North began a move away from its conventional packaging of 4 gallon buckets into what is commonly known as “bag in a box” . This move not only allows us to tie up fewer dollars in packaging inventory but also keeps a projected 90,000lbs of plastic from entering our landfills.

Present: XL North continues its business development of several EPA approved antimicrobial agents and is currently working with 3 large fabric and chemical companies on efficacy evaluations and hopes to be making a major announcement within a month.

Secoa Technology Launches 3 New Product Lines

PerfectArcs, Welddaddy and High Density 3 Maximum Release Bakeware:

PerfectArcs™ | www.perfectarcs.com

PerfectArcs™ Self Cleaning Weld Nozzles officially debuted at Fabtech 2009 Tradeshow.

PerfectArcs™ self-cleaning welding nozzles will reduce welding consumable costs—plus reduce the time wasted cleaning spatter from welding nozzles. In some instances, PerfectArcs welding nozzles may last up to 20 times longer than ordinary welding nozzles--and add as much as $10,000 per welder to a company's bottom line each and every year. It's also ideal for robotic welding.

As part of this promotion we offered test kits for $75.00 to compare our product to their own ordinary nozzles. We've fulfilled over 35 individual requests for these kits and have turned 7 of those 35 into production customers.

Welddaddy | www.welddaddy.com

ULTRAPAVE makes inroads in Costa Rica

The last touches are being done on the fourth project using polymer modified asphalt in Costa Rica. The polymer of choice was again Ultrapave. This 40 kilometer project—by far the longest using polymer—is located in the oil palm producing region in the south of the country. The road is known for heavy trucks carrying the oil palm fruits to processing plants and increasing volumes of tourism traffic heading to and from local beaches. Hot weather and frequent heavy rains make a well-designed road paramount. The Costa Rican Ministry of Public Works and Transport accordingly made its first Superpave design, and the stringent conditions required the use of polymer.

The project was divided between two construction companies with different types of asphalt mixing equipment. Yet each reported that Ultrapave was easy to use and helped meet performance standards in repeated samplings required by the ministry.

The last touches include building underpasses on a stretch of road cutting through an animal preserve. The underpasses will serve as animal crossings to minimize road kills. Once these are finished President Oscar Arias will inaugurate the project before he leaves office on May 6.

The first Ultrapave project in Costa Rica is now three years old. Still looking good!
